Mustapha Akoub was born in Morocco. He holds a degree in Law and International Relations from the University Morocco and a Masters in International Law, University of Glasgow.

He currently works as an interpreter and translator with various organisations and Universities; he also works as a freelance Arabic tutor with Glasgow and Strathclyde University. He is a part time pupil support assistant at a secondary school and a freelance fieldworker for MRCF.
